Shanghai December 16 (Gasgoo.com) BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd, a joint venture between BMW AG and Brilliance China, will add at least 50 dealerships in 2011, the Beijing Times reported Thursday, citing the company's senior vice president sales and Marketing Dr. Daniel Kirchert.
The company has increased its dealership network to nearly 200 sales outlets from 150 in early this year, and will open another 50 mostly in the second- and third-tier cities next year.
Network development has become a top priority for the German automaker and will be expedited continuously, Dr. Daniel Kirchert said. BMW plans to extend the network to prefecture-level and country-level cities, and the third- and fourth-tires cities gradually, he added.
In the first eleven months of this year, BMW delivered 152,866 vehicles in mainland China, of which sales of the Mini brand surged 140% year on year to 9,170 units, according an early report form Gasgoo.com.
