BWI Group MagneRide Suspension Debuts in Same-Class Wagon for First Time

Gasgoo Munich- Lynk & Co's 07 GT made its global debut in Chengdu recently, initiating pre-sales with a starting price of 165,800 yuan. A limited "Time Limited Edition" celebrating the brand's 10th anniversary—capped at 1,007 units—sold out immediately. The company also announced the car will officially enter competition as a rally vehicle in the third quarter of 2026.

The high-performance dynamics of this sports wagon are underpinned by BWI Group's fourth-generation MagneRide® suspension system—a technology previously exclusive to supercars. Its debut in this class makes the Lynk & Co 07 GT the only vehicle in its segment equipped with magnetorheological suspension.

Engineering "the best-driving wagon" was the core objective for the Lynk & Co 07 GT. From architecture to styling and chassis tuning, every detail was refined around the driver's experience. To that end, the car features BWI Group's bespoke MagneRide® system—utilizing chassis technology typically found in million-yuan supercars—to deliver superior handling capability. Whether the road is smooth or rough, there is no need to choose between comfort and performance.

In defining chassis characteristics, BWI Group's MagneRide® system eliminates complex traditional mechanical valve structures. Instead, it uses an electromagnetic field to instantly alter the viscosity of the internal magnetorheological fluid. This allows for dynamic adjustments at a frequency of 1,000 times per second, achieving zero-delay damping response in milliseconds.

Beyond exceptional response speed, the system marks a significant advancement in damping bandwidth. Its range exceeds 10 kN—1.5 times that of traditional electromagnetic valve shock absorbers.

Paired with Lynk & Co's proprietary advanced chassis control algorithms, the vehicle can detect road irregularities earlier, allowing for rapid and precise adjustments to body posture.

Leveraging the capabilities of the MagneRide® system, the Lynk & Co 07 GT successfully completed the industry's first moose test with a roof box installed.

Kang Guowang, president of the Lynk & Co Vehicle Research Institute, stated: "Starting with the 07 GT, magnetorheological suspension will be extended to more Lynk & Co models, bringing a more composed and confident driving experience to a wider range of users."

BWI Group's annual production capacity for magnetorheological shock absorbers in China has now reached 2 million units. The launch of the Lynk & Co 07 GT also signals that BWI Group has successfully integrated its magnetorheological technology across China's four major automotive groups: Chang'an Automobile, Chery, BYD, and Geely.

According to the "2026 Global Unicorn List" released by the Hurun Research Institute on June 25, a total of 1,603 companies made the list, with China ranking second with 381 unicorns. Among them, BWI Group has appeared on the Hurun Global Unicorn List for three consecutive years.
