As the power battery industry accelerates tech iteration and competition heats up, CALB is doubling down on comprehensive R&D. It has built a full-scenario product matrix, pushing simultaneously into traditional sectors like passenger vehicles, commercial transport, and energy storage, while also breaking ground in emerging fields like the low-altitude economy and marine power. This strategy has driven a dual upgrade in both operational performance and a global, diversified market footprint.
Comprehensive R&D Yields Results Across the Board; Multiple Tech Routes Reach Mass Production
In 2025, CALB laid out a comprehensive strategy around core power battery technologies, securing key breakthroughs in six major areas, including solid-state batteries, semi-solid batteries, and ultra-fast charging. Multiple achievements successfully moved to industrialization, steadily improving product performance and application progress while further strengthening the completeness and execution capability of its technology system.
In the realm of high energy density, CALB completed the development of its original 450Wh/kg "Boundless" all-solid-state battery system and successfully passed trial production verification for the first batch. This pushes the all-solid-state battery steadily from the R&D phase toward commercialization.
Regarding semi-solid batteries, the company achieved mass production of 400Wh/kg products and took the lead in deploying them in new energy commercial vehicles, further expanding the application landscape of high-energy-density batteries in the commercial sector.
On the ultra-fast charging front, its 5C batteries are now being produced in volume for XPENG’s best-selling models, successfully completing market application. Meanwhile, the 10C ultra-fast charging battery has finished design development and entered vehicle-level verification, laying the groundwork for the next generation of high-rate charging technology.
In high-power batteries, CALB has established a tiered product lineup: its 20C high-power batteries, suitable for HEV and PHEV models, are being supplied at scale to automakers like Geely and Dongfeng; its 25C high-power batteries, capable of megawatt-level continuous discharge, target niche markets such as high-end luxury vehicles and supercars, effectively covering power needs across different vehicle tiers.
Targeting the emerging low-altitude economy, CALB’s high-energy cylindrical batteries have entered mass production and are supplying top-tier eVTOL clients, marking a preliminary foothold in this new sector.
Full-Matrix Coverage Across All Scenarios; Multiple Tracks Synergize to Expand Market Volume
Leveraging its core R&D breakthroughs, CALB has built a power battery product matrix covering multiple scenarios. Throughout 2025, it deepened its presence in traditional sectors like passenger vehicles, commercial transport, and energy storage, while also cultivating emerging markets such as marine power and the low-altitude economy. Market layouts across all business units continued to deepen, with market share and project implementation progress rising to varying degrees, serving as the core pillar for performance growth.
The passenger vehicle power battery business performed steadily. According to CALB data, its monthly installations for passenger vehicles have climbed into the global top three. Shipments of its 800V 5C ultra-fast charging batteries were particularly prominent, exceeding 20,000 sets per month, signaling a continuous rise in the market adoption of its ultra-fast charging products.
In terms of client portfolio, CALB maintains deep cooperation with local firms like XPENG, Leapmotor, Huawei, and Xiaomi, supplying batteries in bulk for their new platforms and models. Simultaneously, it secured design wins for the next-generation platforms of international automakers including Toyota, Volkswagen, and Hyundai. This dual expansion in local and international markets has further optimized its customer structure.
The commercial vehicle sector maintained strong growth momentum, with 468 core model announcements throughout the year—a 100% increase. The surge in new model announcements reflects a continuously improving match between products and market demand. Notably, the 2C ultra-fast charging battery offers a lifespan of 10 years or 2 million kilometers. In the heavy commercial segment, the company successfully implemented mass production support for 400Wh/kg semi-solid batteries, while the light commercial segment achieved full-scenario product coverage, driving steady growth in the commercial vehicle business across multiple dimensions.
The energy storage business expanded in scale, with shipments doubling year-on-year. CALB’s "Zhijiu" 588Ah/684Ah large-format cells boast core features of long cycle life, low degradation, and high energy density. The 392Ah cell has entered mass production, and the 6.25MWh energy storage system has been successfully installed. Furthermore, the next-generation 600+Ah large-format cell has secured design wins from key clients, continuously refining the full-tier product layout for energy storage.
In the marine power sector, CALB successfully delivered benchmark projects such as the "Electrified Yangtze" initiative, offshore 10,000-ton bulk carriers, and Li River cruise ships. Related products have obtained multiple authoritative international certifications, including DNV and CCS, providing strong support for expanding the marine power battery business into overseas markets.
The low-altitude economy has emerged as a new growth engine. CALB has deepened cooperation with leading domestic eVTOL firms like XPENG AeroHT and GAC Aero, securing exclusive design wins for the power batteries of their flagship models. The 310Wh/kg top-tier high-energy cylindrical cell is already in mass production for leading eVTOL clients, while the next-generation 360Wh/kg high-nickel, medium-silicon cylindrical cell is preparing for mass production, effectively securing an early technological and market position in this emerging sector.
Spanning traditional automotive power batteries to new scenarios in energy storage, marine power, and the low-altitude economy, this synergistic development pattern across all categories and tracks has allowed CALB to build a differentiated advantage amid fierce industry competition. It also lays a solid foundation for the company's steady mid-to-long-term performance growth.
