Can Humanoid Robots Build Aircraft? UBTECH Partners with Airbus

Edited by Aya From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- UBTECH recently announced it has signed a service agreement with Airbus, the European aerospace giant. The aircraft manufacturer has purchased UBTECH's latest industrial humanoid robot, the Walker S2, for deployment in its manufacturing facilities. This move marks the first time humanoid robots have entered the production ecosystem of a leading global aviation manufacturer.

Under the agreement, the two companies will use this purchase as a foundation to explore and expand specific applications for humanoid robots in complex, precision aviation manufacturing scenarios.

The partnership with Airbus represents another key milestone in UBTECH's global expansion of industrial humanoid robots. Following a strategic partnership with semiconductor giant Texas Instruments last year, UBTECH has systematically expanded its solutions beyond China's industrial sector into five core areas: global aviation manufacturing, automotive production, consumer electronics, smart logistics, and semiconductor manufacturing.

Market data confirms this momentum. In 2025, UBTECH's total orders for humanoid robots have surpassed 1.4 billion CNY, securing a global leading position. To meet growing demand, the company is actively increasing capacity, with annual production of industrial humanoid robots expected to reach 10,000 units by 2026.

While accelerating market expansion and capacity planning, UBTECH has been developing the industrial ecosystem, signaling a comprehensive strategic push. The company recently signed an agreement with Shenzhen Polytechnic University to co-establish the nation's first Embodied Intelligence Industry College at the vocational undergraduate level, aiming to train high-skilled technical talent for the factories of the future. Furthermore, UBTECH formed a strategic partnership with the National Robot Testing and Assessment Center (Guangzhou) to jointly drive research on standards, quality testing, and reliability improvements for complete humanoid robots and core components—establishing a solid foundation for large-scale industry development.

These moves make it clear: UBTECH is accelerating the industrialization of humanoid robots through a dual-drive strategy of "high-end application leadership" and "industry foundation consolidation." Partnering with industry leaders like Airbus not only provides high-value application scenarios but also demonstrates to the global market the practical potential of humanoid robots as a new driver of productivity.
