Gasgoo Munich- CATL and Dalian Deta Holdings signed a strategic cooperation agreement on July 22 covering vehicle aftermarket services, vehicle-to-grid technology, battery-swapping infrastructure and the wider adoption of electric transportation.

The partnership broadens the companies' relationship from battery supply into energy and mobility services. Planned work on vehicle-to-grid, or V2G, applications could allow parked electric vehicles to charge during periods of lower electricity demand and return power to the grid when demand rises, subject to the development of suitable infrastructure and operating mechanisms.
The agreement builds on CATL's existing role in Dalian Deta's public transport operations. All new energy buses currently operated by the local state-owned company use CATL batteries.
The two companies will now extend electrification to the government fleet in Dalian's Jinpu New Area. Under the agreement, CATL will support Dalian Deta in replacing 300 government vehicles with electric models, although a detailed timetable and vehicle mix have not been disclosed.
Electrifying the government fleet is intended to reduce fuel and operating expenses while providing a visible demonstration of electric mobility in public-sector use. The actual cost benefits will depend on factors including vehicle utilization, charging arrangements and maintenance requirements.
More broadly, the cooperation illustrates how CATL is expanding beyond battery supply into urban energy services. By connecting electric fleets with aftermarket support, swapping networks and V2G applications, the company is seeking a larger role across the vehicle and battery lifecycle rather than limiting its involvement to the initial sale of battery systems.
