According to a post on CATL's WeChat account, the partnership will focus on several areas tied to the evolving lifecycle of electric bus fleets, including battery aftermarket services, the development of urban battery-swapping infrastructure, battery recycling, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) integration. Through these initiatives, the two sides aim to explore new operational models emerging in the post-electrification phase of public transport.

As the largest public transit operator in Fujian province, Fuzhou Public Transport Group has already completed the full electrification of its bus fleet. The new agreement is intended to address key challenges that arise once electric buses reach large-scale deployment, particularly energy replenishment efficiency and battery lifespan. By working together, the two companies aim to develop a safer, more efficient and lower-carbon energy ecosystem for urban transit, while advancing battery management models that extend the value of battery assets from simple usage to full lifecycle circulation.
