Gasgoo Munich- On March 9, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) released its annual report for 2025, reporting robust financial growth. The battery manufacturer recorded revenue of 423.7 billion yuan for the year, marking a 17.04% increase from 2024. Net profit attributable to shareholders rose even faster, surging 42.28% year-on-year to 72.201 billion yuan.

CATL also proposed a generous dividend plan. The company intends to distribute 69.57 yuan in cash for every 10 shares, including tax. According to the report, CATL has maintained a policy of returning 50% of its net profit to shareholders through cash dividends for three consecutive years. Once the latest payout is completed, the company's cumulative dividends will approach 100 billion yuan.
Operational cash flow also strengthened significantly. Net cash generated from operating activities reached 133.2 billion yuan in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 37.35%.
Research and development remained a central priority. CATL invested 22.1 billion yuan in R&D during 2025, continuing a steady increase in the share of revenue allocated to innovation. Over the past decade, the company's cumulative R&D spending has exceeded 90 billion yuan, supporting its efforts to maintain leadership in core battery technologies and product development.
The company further consolidated its position in the global battery market during 2025. CATL reported lithium battery sales totaling 661 GWh for the year, up 39% from the previous year. Data from SNE Research shows the company's share of global EV battery installations rose by 1.2 percentage points to 39.2%, marking its ninth consecutive year as the world's largest supplier. In overseas markets, its share climbed to 30%. To date, CATL batteries have been installed in more than 24 million vehicles worldwide.
CATL also maintained a strong lead in the rapidly expanding energy storage sector. According to SNE Research, the company captured a 30.4% share of global energy storage battery shipments in 2025, retaining the top position for the fifth consecutive year. Its batteries have now been deployed in roughly 2,300 storage projects worldwide.
To meet rising global demand, CATL continued expanding its manufacturing footprint and delivery capacity. By 2025, the company had established total battery production capacity of 772 GWh worldwide, the largest in the industry, with an additional 321 GWh under construction at year-end. Major international projects—including its battery plant in Hungary and supply chain developments in Indonesia—are progressing steadily.
