Gasgoo Munich- CATL announced on May 7 that its subsidiary Contemporary Amperex Intelligence Technology (Shanghai) Limited ("CAIT-SH") has entered into a cooperation agreement with Turkish EV maker Togg to jointly develop three vehicle models based on Togg's new B-segment platform. The models will utilize CATL's Bedrock skateboard chassis architecture, with the first production model scheduled to enter the market in 2027.

The partnership marks another step in CATL's efforts to expand beyond battery supply into vehicle platform technologies and integrated intelligent mobility solutions.
Under the agreement, Togg will take responsibility for vehicle definition, digital architecture development, and user experience design, while CAIT-SH will provide the Bedrock skateboard chassis platform along with related integration technologies and engineering support.
CATL introduced its Bedrock skateboard chassis in 2024 as an integrated new energy vehicle (NEV) platform that incorporates battery cells directly into the vehicle structure through a cell-to-chassis design. According to the company, the system was developed around three primary safety pillars covering structural integrity, battery protection, and high-voltage safety.
The Togg project represents the first overseas mass-production passenger vehicle program built on CATL's Bedrock skateboard chassis technology, highlighting China's growing export of next-generation NEV platform solutions to international automakers.
Togg, widely recognized as Türkiye's first domestically developed electric vehicle brand, has emerged as a leading EV player in its home market. By adopting CATL's Bedrock skateboard platform for its upcoming B-segment lineup, the automaker is expected to reduce development costs and engineering complexity related to chassis and battery integration.
This approach enables Togg to allocate more resources toward user-facing technologies, digital systems, and complete vehicle definition—areas increasingly viewed as critical competitive differentiators in the EV market.
