Changan Automobile and Midea Group form partnership to create "Human-Car-Home" smart lifestyle

Gasgoo Munich - On January 21, Changan Automobile and Midea Group signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement at the appliance giant's headquarters in Foshan, Guangdong. The two companies will deepen collaboration across three key areas: core automotive components, intelligent manufacturing, and the "human-car-home" ecosystem. Leveraging Midea’s full-stack capabilities in electromechanical technology, industrial automation, and AIoT, the alliance aims to drive a comprehensive upgrade for Changan — spanning its parts supply chain, production lines, and smart mobility ecosystem.

Under the agreement, the pair will deepen ties in core components for new-energy vehicles. Midea plans to leverage the technical and product strengths of its Wuling Automotive Components unit — particularly in thermal management systems and chassis actuation — to advance cooperation on motors, electronic controls, compressors, and other thermal management parts.

Simultaneously, the companies are pushing for an upgrade in smart manufacturing. By tapping Midea’s expertise in digitalization, automation, building management, and logistics, they will expand collaboration into enterprise digital management systems, AI agent development, and the deployment of industrial robots and AGVs. The partnership also covers the construction of flexible smart production lines and intelligent energy scenarios — ranging from freezing stations and air compressors to high-temperature heat pumps — alongside logistics optimization.

The signing event also offered a glimpse of early collaboration fruits: a "car-controls-home" feature. In the new Changan Qiyuan Q05, drivers can use voice commands while on the move to activate modes such as "Comfortable Home," "Worry-free Leave," or "Pet Care." This allows remote control of home devices — including air conditioners, dehumidifiers, robot vacuums, curtains, lights, and air purifiers — enabling seamless management from pre-arrival environment settings to post-departure energy saving. The feature will debut on select Qiyuan models and roll out to users via over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Furthermore, the partners are accelerating joint development on the "home-controls-car" front. They are refining experiences for high-frequency scenarios like remote vehicle preparation, allowing users to get their cars ready from the comfort of their living rooms — ensuring every departure is smarter and more composed.

This agreement marks a significant step forward. Building on existing cooperation in digitalization, smart manufacturing, green energy, and logistics, Changan and Midea will now expand into deeper collaboration across car-home connectivity, automotive components, and omni-channel marketing.

Looking ahead, Changan stated that both companies will remain guided by user demand, pushing car-home connectivity from "technical coordination" to "actual experience." By delivering efficient system integration and intuitive scenario designs, they aim to craft a more seamless and comfortable "human-car-home" smart lifestyle.
