Gasgoo Munich-Changan Automobile released its April production and sales flash report on May 5, revealing overall sales of 179,314 units for the month — a 5.95% year-on-year decline. Overseas sales contributed 77,659 units to the total. For the first four months of the year, cumulative sales reached 736,815 units, down 17.75%.

By product structure, sales of self-owned brands slipped 8.17% to 146,590 units in April, with a January-to-April total of 604,857 units, down 21.52%. The NEV sector was a standout performer: April sales climbed 9.38% to 67,706 units, making it the only business segment to achieve positive growth for the month. Cumulative NEV sales for the first four months fell 7.71% to 236,325 units, a decline significantly narrower than the broader market.

On the production side, Changan Automobile turned out 180,949 vehicles in April, a 6.87% drop year-on-year, while cumulative production for January to April fell 15.13% to 666,947 units. Self-owned brand production decreased 11.76% to 143,755 units, and NEV production slipped 5.63% to 69,071 units.
Notably, overseas markets have become a critical pillar for Changan Automobile. International sales hit 77,659 units in April, accounting for 43.3% of the monthly total — nearly half — and serving as a key stabilizer for the company's performance. Against the backdrop of a market-wide slump, growth in the NEV business and breakthroughs in overseas exports are providing fresh support for the automaker's future development.
As Changan Automobile continues to refine its NEV portfolio and expand its global footprint, the company is poised to gradually improve its overall sales performance in the coming months.
