Beyond the signing itself, the two companies are fast-tracking joint development in the "home-to-car" domain. Efforts are centered on high-frequency use cases such as remote vehicle preparation, enabling users to manage key travel-related functions from home and streamline the transition from daily life to mobility with greater ease and intelligence.
In post-signing discussions, Changan Chairman Zhu Huarong highlighted Midea's global leadership and deep expertise in smart manufacturing, industrial technology and intelligent home solutions. He noted that Changan is accelerating its transition into a provider of intelligent, low-carbon mobility technologies, with its Changan NEVO new energy vehicle brand positioned as a key bridge for translating the shared vision of an integrated "human–vehicle–home" lifestyle into real-world applications. Mr. Zhu said the partnership creates an opportunity to more closely combine automotive manufacturing with advanced digital technologies and to jointly cultivate a more competitive industrial ecosystem.
Midea Chairman Fang Hongbo said that amid profound shifts in the global economy and industrial landscape, the group remains focused on strategic discipline and continuous self-renewal, upgrading its core businesses and capabilities to support sustainable growth. He described the partnership with Changan as grounded in strong alignment across both industrial and ecosystem perspectives, adding that Midea's commitment to open collaboration and complementary strengths will underpin joint exploration of integrated "human–vehicle–home" smart living through shared scenarios, channels and user value.
The agreement signals a deepening of cooperation beyond existing collaboration in digitalization, intelligent manufacturing, green energy and logistics coordination. Looking ahead, the two sides plan to expand into vehicle–home connectivity, components development and omni-channel marketing, with a clear focus on user needs. By shifting car–home integration from technology alignment to tangible experiences, Changan and Midea aim to deliver a more seamless, intuitive and comfortable vision of connected "human–vehicle–home" living.
