Shanghai, April 24 (Gasgoo.com) Changan Auto is planning to put its own-brand Yuexiang cars on sale in overseas markets, starting with Southeast Asia and North America, said xinhua.net, citing sources from the company.

The Chongqing-based automaker will speed up construction of its overseas KD factories, aiming to export its Changan Benben vehicle to North America by 2012.
Changan Auto exported 25,000 vehicles in 2008 and it targets at 30,000 units this year, according to the company. The company plans to build eight factories abroad by 2010, covering the major car markets in the world.
The Chinese automaker has already opened six overseas factories in Malaysia, Mexico, America, Iran, Ukraine and Vietnam.
