Gasgoo Munich- Data from business tracker Tianyancha shows Anhui DEEIOT Energy Technology Co. has recently completed a business registration change. Original shareholders Wuhu ACTECO Powertrain Co., Ltd. and Wuhu Zhenyong Enterprise Management Center (Limited Partnership) have fully exited, making way for Wuhu Qida Power Battery System Co., Ltd. — a unit of Chery Automobile — as the new shareholder. At the same time, the company’s registered capital rose to 2.3 billion CNY from 1.8 billion CNY, marking an increase of roughly 28%.

The equity restructuring marks a significant consolidation of Chery’s power battery operations. Public records show DEEIOT Energy, established in March 2022 in Wuhu, Anhui, focuses on battery manufacturing and resource recycling technology. It serves as a key entity for Chery’s in-house battery strategy. Previously controlled by ACTECO, a Chery wholly-owned subsidiary, the transfer to Qida Power signals that Chery is centralizing its battery R&D and manufacturing resources under a dedicated platform, streamlining its management structure.

The simultaneous capital injection and equity transfer indicate Chery’s determination to reinforce proprietary battery technology. As a critical link in Chery’s “in-house plus outsourced” supply chain, DEEIOT Energy is responsible for supplying batteries for brands like Exeed and Luxeed. The company has already set up production bases in Wuhu and Tongling, and in March, it began construction on a 20 GWh battery project in Suzhou.

On the technology front, DEEIOT Energy has built substantial R&D capabilities, holding more than 600 patents spanning cell preparation and battery structure. Its products recently passed the new national safety certification, with several performance metrics exceeding state standards.

With competition in the new-energy vehicle sector intensifying and battery costs remaining high, automakers are increasingly pursuing in-house battery development. By integrating DEEIOT Energy, Chery is not only tightening control over its supply chain but also laying a solid foundation for the mass production of high-end models and market expansion. Going forward, DEEIOT’s capacity expansion and technological breakthroughs will serve as a key indicator of Chery’s competitiveness in the electric vehicle market.
