Key Takeaways

·Chery defined five elements of its Yaoguang 2035 strategy: lifecycle-wide electrification, coordinated intelligent technologies, global brand development, deeper international integration and an open ecosystem.

·The strategy's technology framework comprises one underlying technology platform and four areas described by Chery as "freedoms": mobility, energy, food production and daily life.

·Chery introduced CheryMind, a vertical foundation model developed for physical AI, as a central technology platform for its transition toward AI-driven product development.

·The company also launched the Ziwei C, S and M chip series, covering computing, power electronics and control applications.

·Chery said the Ziwei S1500 silicon carbide chip achieves peak efficiency of 99.6% and can operate at temperatures of up to 200°C. The automotive-grade Ziwei C100 uses a heterogeneous multicore architecture and is designed for edge deployment of a 100-billion-parameter physical-world model.

Applications under Yaoguang 2035

Building on the CheryMind model and Ziwei chips, Chery presented technologies across the four application areas in the Yaoguang 2035 framework.

In mobility, Chery presented its All-dimensional World Engine (AWE), a factory-integrated Robotaxi vehicle agent supporting Level 4 autonomous driving, and a fully autonomous compound-wing passenger eVTOL. The company said the aircraft can reach 120 km/h and operate for more than one hour.

In energy, Chery said its Xunlong rapid-charging technology, developed with CATL, can add 500 km of range in five minutes. It also presented charging technology for electric vehicles and boats and an AC vehicle-to-grid system that the company described as the industry's first to reach commercial deployment.

For agricultural applications, Chery said its electric machinery agent reduces energy costs by 74% and covers cultivation, planting, crop management, harvesting and transport.

Chery also displayed robots designed for traffic management, hospital guidance and child companionship as part of the strategy's daily-life applications.

Research partnership

Following the establishment of the USTC-Kaiyang Joint Laboratory for Advanced Automotive Technology in March 2025, Chery and the University of Science and Technology of China inaugurated the "2050 Future Institute" at the conference.
