Gasgoo Munich- Chery Automobile has confirmed the return of its once-iconic QQ series, announcing that a dedicated "Chery QQ Night" event will be held on February 6 to unveil the all-new QQ3. The move signals a strategic reboot of the QQ nameplate, this time positioned squarely in China's rapidly expanding entry-level electric vehicle segment.

The new QQ3 is a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) model that departs sharply from the styling of its predecessor. Regulatory filings and company disclosures show the car measures 4,195 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width and 1,569 mm in height, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase and a five-seat layout. While still classified as a small EV, the new QQ3 is notably larger and more spacious than the original QQ that once defined affordable personal mobility for a generation of Chinese drivers.

Smart technology sits at the center of the new QQ3's value proposition. Chery says the vehicle will feature its AI-powered "Lingxi" intelligent cockpit, anchored by a 15.6-inch central display with 2.5K resolution and powered by Qualcomm's 8155 chipset. On the driver-assistance front, the model is expected to run Chery's in-house developed Falcon 500 advanced driver assistance system, enabling functions such as highway navigation-on-autopilot and automated parking across a wide range of scenarios.

Power comes from a lithium iron phosphate battery pack, paired with an electric motor rated at up to 58 kW. The new QQ3's top speed is listed at 125 km/h, aligning it with typical urban and suburban driving needs in its segment.

First launched in 2003, the original Chery QQ became one of the most recognizable models in China's auto market, recording more than 1.4 million units of sales on the back of its low price and simple appeal, and serving as a first car for countless households. By bringing the QQ back as a smart, fully electric vehicle, Chery is signaling its ambition to reclaim a "people's car" role in today's fiercely competitive small EV landscape. Pricing and final specifications are set to be revealed at the February 6 launch event.
