Gasgoo Munich- On October 22, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) held a signing ceremony for its seventh batch of strategic partners. Eighteen domestic and overseas companies are establishing a presence or expanding operations in Hong Kong. Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. is among them — the only Chinese automaker focused on advanced manufacturing and new energy in this cohort. Chery Vice President Dai Chuang attended the signing at the government headquarters. The ceremony was presided over by Financial Secretary Paul Chan.

This batch of 18 companies spans advanced manufacturing and new energy, artificial intelligence, and life and health technology. Half hail from the mainland, with several boasting market capitalizations or valuations exceeding 100 billion Hong Kong dollars. With the addition of the seventh batch, OASES has now attracted 142 strategic enterprises in total. They are expected to bring roughly 84 billion Hong Kong dollars in investment and create about 26,700 jobs. Selected companies gain access to a "one-enterprise, one-policy" support package, covering land and park infrastructure, R&D tax deductions, and visa arrangements for core talent.
Chery's Hong Kong Innovation Center moved into Hong Kong Science Park this past April. It positions itself as an offshore "AI+Automotive" innovation hub focused on new energy, intelligent driving, and internet-of-vehicles technologies. Its inclusion in the strategic enterprise list signals a formal endorsement from the Special Administrative Region government for Chery's global strategy. This strategy uses Hong Kong as a gateway to shift from simply exporting products to driving collaborative innovation.
