Recently, the U.S. released a research report on its auto industry, which indicated that China and India's auto parts exports to the U.S. have seen an increase.
In 2006, U.S. automakers imported 43.2 bn USD of auto parts from Canada, Mexico, Japan, Germany and China. The export volume of China's auto suppliers surged by 38% in 2006, and during the first quarter of 2007 it was up by 30%.
Meanwhile, sales for India's passenger vehicles surged by 27% and reached 1.4 mn units. The report indicated that India may surpass ROK, France and Brazil and become the 5th largest auto market.
