Volvo may officially announce Chinese manufacture plans by the end of February
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 21) - Official plans for Chinese manufacture of Volvos may be announced at the end of the month, auto.sina.com.cn reported today. At a Volvo news conference held in the past few days, Ning Shuyong, spokesman for parent company Geely, said that the company currently had no comment on the issue. However, reports have circulated in the media that Volvo production will start in Shanghai and Chengdu, with the Shanghai facility beginning operation later.

China plans to make a million electric vehicles a year by 2015
guardian.co.uk (February 22) - China is aiming to put more than a million electric vehicles onto the road each year by 2015, according to the state-run People's Daily. It claims that new plans for the auto industry are about to be published and will make "new energy" – electric and hybrid electric – vehicles a national priority.

Changan Mazda finalizes breakup with Ford, to relocate to Nanjing
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 24) - The dissolution of the three-way Changan Ford Mazda joint venture has been officially completed with Changan Mazda's headquarters to be relocated to Nanjing, the Beijing Times reported today. The breakup process, which had been initiated last April, will see the dismantling of the Beijing Mazda motor division, previously in charge of Mazda's Chinese operations. Other operations will be moved to the company's new headquarters of Nanjing within the year.

Hualing Automobile to suspend trading
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai February 25) - Heavy-duty truck manufacturer Hualing Automobile put out an announcement saying that it will halt trading of stock until the national the Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) completes examination of the company, ifeng.com reported today. The CSRC will hold a meeting regarding the company's future on February 28.
