China Surpassed Germany in Auto Parts Export to U.S. for the First Time

Statistics showed that during the first quarter of 2007, China has surpassed Germany and become U.S. second largest auto parts exporter for the first time.

During the first quarter of 2007, China exported 1.936 bn USD of auto parts to the U.S., which surpassed Germany's 1.934 bn USD during the corresponding period. Over the same period last year, China's auto parts export to the U.S. valued at 1.52 bn USD while that of Germany totaled 1.73 bn USD. Currently, Japan remains largest auto parts exporter to U.S with a total export volume of 3.57 bn USD.

During the first three months of 2007, China exported 6.123 bn USD of auto parts worldwide, up by 32.4% over same period last year. Auto engine exports valued at 221 mn USD, up by 19.42% quarter on quarter.
