Gasgoo Munich- On May 7, Contemporary Amperex Intelligence Technology (Shanghai) Limited (CAIT-SH), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CATL, has signed an agreement with Turkish electric vehicle manufacturer Togg. The two will jointly develop three models under Togg's new B-segment platform, utilizing CATL's Bedrock Chassis. The first mass-produced model is slated to hit the market in 2027.

Under the agreement, Togg will take the lead on user experience design, vehicle product definition, and digital architecture construction, while CAIT-SH provides the Bedrock Chassis along with related integration technical support.
Launched by CATL in 2024, the Bedrock Chassis features a cell-to-chassis (CTC) structure that integrates battery cells directly into the frame. The company claims it delivers three key safety features: structural, cell-level, and high-voltage. This collaboration marks the first time the Bedrock Chassis will be used in an overseas mass-production passenger vehicle project — a significant milestone for Chinese skateboard chassis technology entering the global OEM arena.
As Turkey's first homegrown EV brand, Togg currently leads sales in its domestic market. By adopting the CATL Bedrock Chassis for its three upcoming B-segment models, Togg can streamline resources spent on chassis development and battery system integration. That allows the automaker to redirect capital and focus toward user experience, in-vehicle digital systems, and overall vehicle definition.
CATL revealed that beyond Turkey, it is advancing partnerships with several automakers across Europe and Southeast Asia for its skateboard chassis business. The objective is to help emerging-market EV brands shorten development cycles and reduce initial platform investments, while simultaneously driving the global expansion of China's new-energy supply chain ecosystem.
