"The Chinese auto parts export will increase at a rate of 40%," said Zhi Luxun, Ministry of Commerce of People's Republic of China Department of Mechanic, Electronic and High-Tech Industry Export Director at a forum recently.

In 2006, China exported 324,000 units of complete vehicles, and increase of 87.8%, which auto parts saw an increase of 36.3%.
"There are six characteristics of Chinese auto exports: first, the number of enterprises taking part in the exportation is increasing every year and there are currently 15,000 enterprises that export their products to overseas markets; second, auto parts comprise the main body of auto exports, about 80%; third, in the completed vehicle export, commercial vehicle exports comprise the majority; fourth, exporting is becoming more and more diversified, with about 207 countries serving as export destinations; fifth, the Chinese auto makers are playing an increasingly important role in the exportation; sixth, the complete vehicle export of state owned enterprises and private owned enterprises constitutes 73.2% of the total exports.
