The core relies on a deeply integrated three-in-one solution combining a high-power-density motor, a two-stage planetary reducer, and a driver. Official figures put the peak output torque at over 360 Nm. That capability addresses the "leg strength" required for robots to walk, carry loads, and run dynamically — targeting demanding scenarios like industrial logistics and field operations where load-bearing capacity is critical.

This isn't Chongqing Tsingshan's first foray into robotic joints. The company already produces knee modules for quadruped robots with lighter loads. The rollout of this high-torque module complements those existing units, pairing "lightweight agility" with "heavy-duty power" in a bid to cover the spectrum from low to high loads. Still, the A-prototype represents only the initial step of development. Performance stability, mass-production consistency, and eventual commercial costs remain to be proven through further testing and market validation.

The humanoid robot supply chain remains in its infancy, with technical standards and market dynamics for core components like joints still far from settled. By leveraging its transmission expertise to enter the robotics arena, Chongqing Tsingshan is betting on the growing market for high-load joints. Yet the field is already crowded with domestic and international specialists in motors and reducers, and competition is heating up. Whether this high-torque module can truly break ground will depend not just on specifications, but on the speed of engineering implementation, reliability, and cost control.

Chongqing Tsingshan says it plans to continue optimizing the power density, durability, and cost structure of its joint modules. The company also intends to explore applications in collaborative robots and specialized mobile platforms, aiming to expand its footprint in the market for core robotic components.
