Gasgoo Munich- Shanghai Chuhang Zhidong Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Nanjing Chuhang Technology Co., Ltd., officially opened its doors on September 16. Leveraging the parent company’s expertise in automotive-grade perception, the new venture aims to extend spatial sensing technologies from vehicles into homes and commercial spaces — with privacy protection as a core principle for product deployment.

The launch of Zhidong Technology marks a strategic move by Chuhang Technology for the era of Physical AI. While artificial intelligence accelerates its migration from the digital to the physical realm — with algorithms, large models, and AI agents maturing rapidly online — the ability to perceive, understand, and proactively serve within physical spaces remains a critical bottleneck for real-world deployment.
Industry observers suggest that the intelligentization of physical spaces could define the next decade of the AI sector, with spatial intelligence emerging as a core cognitive capability for AI systems.
On the technical front, Zhidong Technology has built a framework centered on spatial perception. It covers six key capabilities: presence detection, trajectory tracking, occupancy monitoring, vital sign sensing, posture recognition, and safety guardianship. This creates a complete value chain spanning "spatial data, spatial intelligence, and spatial execution."
Chuhang Technology notes that the underlying technology for spatial perception remains consistent across scenarios. Moving from automotive to home and commercial environments requires adjustments only in spatial scale and application requirements; the core technical logic remains unchanged.
Privacy protection stands at the center of Zhidong Technology’s differentiation strategy. Unlike mainstream solutions that rely on camera images, the company uses non-imaging sensors like millimeter-wave radar, supported by multi-sensor fusion. By leveraging on-device AI algorithms and local large models for data processing and decision-making, it avoids image capture and uploads at the source. The approach champions a product philosophy of "sensing presence, not peering into lives," offering smart space solutions with minimal privacy risks for home and commercial users.
Regarding its rollout strategy, Zhidong Technology will prioritize home spaces while treating commercial spaces as a secondary focus. In the home segment, the company will target needs such as elderly care, family safety monitoring, home security, and companion services. For commercial settings like hotels and offices, it will offer capabilities including intelligent sensing, proactive alerts, and energy efficiency management.
