According to the company, the new capital will be used to accelerate research and development across its full-stack robotics platform, including both hardware and software technologies. The investment will support the continued evolution of a computing infrastructure designed specifically for embodied intelligence, integrating edge and cloud capabilities while enabling tighter coordination between chips, algorithms, and system software. The company aims to use this foundation to help lower development barriers in the robotics industry and accelerate large-scale commercial deployment.

A key strategic partner in this effort is Horizon Robotics, which provides its BPU (Brain Processing Unit) intelligent computing architecture and foundation model capabilities. The two companies plan to work together to advance robotic intelligence and support the large-scale commercialization of next-generation robotic systems.

D-Robotics positions itself as a foundational technology provider for the robotics ecosystem, offering solutions that span the full lifecycle from early-stage research to large-scale manufacturing. Its product portfolio ranges from chips and algorithms to system-level software, with computing solutions covering performance tiers from 5 to 560 TOPS. These platforms are designed to support a wide range of robotic applications, including humanoid robots, wheeled and legged robots, quadruped robotic dogs, service and companion robots, and logistics autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). By integrating hardware and software development tools, the company aims to bridge the gap between frontier innovation and commercial deployment.

Over the past year, D-Robotics has worked closely with leading industry partners to launch several flagship products across key robotics segments. The company contributed computing and AI capabilities to the Narwal Xiaoyao 002 robotic vacuum, which introduced AI-powered binocular perception technology. It also supported Insta360 in developing the Antigravity A1, described as the world's first panoramic drone, and partnered with robotics startup Vbot to introduce an intelligent companion robot dog designed for home environments. Through these collaborations, the company seeks to enhance the intelligence and performance of consumer and service robots by providing an integrated development infrastructure.

The robotics industry is currently entering a pivotal phase marked by rapid advances in core technologies, expanding commercial production, and deeper penetration across specialized application scenarios. Horizon Robotics, which has built its computing architecture and foundation models initially for automotive applications, is now extending these capabilities into the emerging field of embodied intelligence.

Leveraging Horizon Robotics' mass-production-proven BPU computing architecture and advanced foundation models, D-Robotics is developing a technology stack specifically optimized for robotic applications. The system integrates chips, algorithms, and software into a unified platform designed for embodied AI, supported by a development framework that spans simulation, validation, and real-world deployment. By combining hardware–software co-design with edge–cloud integration, the company aims to lower development barriers for robotics developers and position itself as a foundational platform provider for the robotics era—an ambition it often describes as becoming the "Wintel" equivalent for intelligent robots.
