Daimler AG's results continue to improve and the German maker of cars and trucks remains on track to hit its financial targets, Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche was quoted on Friday as saying.
"Our development over the past two quarters has moved up sharply. And you will see that this will continue. We will in any event reach our targets in full," he told Wirtschaftswoche magazine, according to excerpts it released from an interview.
Daimler's third-quarter results are due on Oct. 27.
Zetsche said he expected its premium auto arm Mercedes to be able to sell 1.5 million units a year by 2015, up from around 1 million now.
Asked about speculation that he might not remain CEO when his contract expires late next year, Zetsche said: "I am having fun in my job and am not interested in another one."
