DaimlerChrysler Group data shows that in the first quarter of 2007, auto sales topped to 5,262 vehicles in Northeast Asian region, up 13% compared with the same period last year.
Hua Lixin, DaimlerChrysler's Northeast Asia Chairman and CEO, said: in this region, DaimlerChrysler product sales continue to maintain a strong momentum of growth, particularly Chrysler's 300C and Mercedes' S-class series.
Mercedes-Benz (China) auto sales company CEO Meyers said in mainland China and Hong Kong, Mercedes group sales reached 6800 vehicles in the first quarter, increased 16% compared with the same period last year. Mercedes S-class series with over 3,000 vehicles sales ranked No.1 in the luxury segment. In mainland China, Mercedes group growth of import car sales increased 54% in the first quarter.
Chrysler (China) CEO Simon Elliott said Chrysler Group sales grew 6% in the first quarter in northeast Asia regions. In China, as Beijing Benz-DaimlerChrysler Automotive Co. expanding production localization, Chrysler 300C first quarter sales growth increased 153% compared with the same period last year.
