A decision to close Delphi's Puerto Real steering, suspension and bearings plant in Spain will incur a loss of 1,600 jobs, it has been reported by local sources. The plant is said to have incurred operating losses of €150m over the past five years, and Delphi considers its output as non-core. No statement on the closure has yet been posted on Delphi's global website.
