Dexmal Merges with Atomix and Secures Strategic Financing

Edited by Betty From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- Dexmal has completed a share-swap merger with logistics robotics firm Atomix. The deal marks the first deep tie-up between a "model company" and a "scenario company" in China's embodied AI space.

Alongside the merger, Dexmal has closed a fresh strategic funding round. The investor roster includes Zhipu AI, StepFun, and SenseTime, alongside returning backer Alibaba. Industrial capital also stepped in, with Huaqin and SAIC Hengxu backing the round.

For Dexmal, scaling embodied large models demands a shift from manual data collection to real-world industrial scenarios, according to founder and CEO Tang Wenbin. The vast logistics data amassed by Atomix, he noted, provides the critical fuel to spin that flywheel.

The merger also cements Dexmal's global footprint—spanning Beijing and five overseas locations. The setup includes an R&D center in Beijing and a global headquarters in Hong Kong. It also features a commercial hub in Singapore and offices in Japan and South Korea, with a US office slated to open in June. The company has now assembled a full-stack ecosystem covering models, infrastructure, hardware, and application scenarios:

DM0, the world's first natively embodied large model, fuses three data streams for joint training—robotic multi-perception, autonomous driving, and internet data—pushing operational accuracy past the sub-millimeter threshold.

Dexbotic, a versatile embodied open-source framework, has been adopted by dozens of elite institutions—including Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Princeton—alongside major enterprises like Tencent and Beijing Humanoid Robot, reaching over 1,000 developers.

RoboChallenge, an embodied AI hardware evaluation platform co-launched with Hugging Face, has facilitated over 80,000 real-world robotic tests worldwide. It has also powered top-tier competitions like CVPR and ICRA.

For its part, Atomix brings a flexible warehousing network spanning over 20 countries and nearly 100 brands. Its client list features Uniqlo, Coca-Cola, and Mixue, with daily shipments topping 600,000 units.

On June 15, Dexmal plans to roll out the world's first three-tier sorting system for warehouse logistics, using the DM0 model to direct mixed operations across multiple robot types. The following month will see the official debut of its next-generation DM0.5 model, its first general-purpose robot, and a new application infrastructure stack.
