At the event, the automaker unveiled the FRIDAY, a new energy SUV tailored for right-hand-drive markets, alongside the V9, a core model in its electrified lineup.

As a strategic model built specifically for right-hand-drive markets, the FRIDAY underwent extensive localization to meet Thai demands. It features an extended-range powertrain designed for the current state of local charging infrastructure, offering a pure electric range exceeding 200 km. Additionally, its ADAS driver-assistance functions were optimized for local driving habits, while body water tightness and wading capabilities were strengthened to handle Thailand's rainy season—ensuring the vehicle is truly ready for local roads immediately upon arrival.

Dongfeng Forthing currently utilizes its EMA modular platform, which spans SUVs, MPVs, and sedans with wheelbases ranging from 2,615 mm to 3,000 mm. The architecture supports pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and extended-range powertrains and has achieved a five-star safety rating from ASEAN-NCAP.

On the technology front, the company boasts a Mach hybrid engine with a thermal efficiency of 45.18%, alongside a full-domain 800V high-voltage platform supporting 220 kW ultra-fast charging. Its long-life Armor battery has also withstood over 500 rigorous tests.

In terms of intelligent features, the brand's Xinghai Pilot system currently delivers Level 2 driver assistance, with plans to upgrade to Level 3 navigation assist in the future. AI voice interaction and four-zone voice recognition are also part of the package, aiming to create an intelligent cabin experience that feels more personal and responsive.

Entering Thailand marks a significant step in Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor's global strategy. The company stated it will continue to implement its Chengfeng Twin Engine (2030) international strategy, deepening its presence in Thailand and refining its local operations. The goal is to introduce more models tailored for global markets to the wider world.
