Gasgoo Munich- On Nov. 2, Gasgoo learned that Dongfeng Motor Group held an expanded leadership meeting to announce decisions from the Central Organization Department: Wu Bilei has been appointed director and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Dongfeng Motor Group, while Lu Fang takes on the roles of general manager and member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee. The appointments will be formalized in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

The reshuffle brings two seasoned auto executives into the fold. Wu previously served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and deputy general manager at China FAW Group. A long-time commercial vehicle specialist, he brings a dual track record spanning both R&D and corporate management.
Born in January 1970, Wu played a key role in developing multiple generations of FAW Jiefang commercial trucks — from the J3 through the J7. His career arc includes stints as president of FAW Jiefang’s Commercial Vehicle Development Institute, then general manager and chairman of the truck maker. He was elevated to FAW’s Standing Committee and deputy general manager in June 2024.

Lu Fang, meanwhile, has been a driving force behind VOYAH — Dongfeng’s homegrown premium EV brand.
He joined Dongfeng in 2018 and took charge of the Dongfeng H Division — VOYAH’s predecessor — the following year. As VOYAH’s CEO, he was deeply involved in every stage of the brand’s growth, from its founding and product roadmap to market expansion.
Lu stepped into the roles of VOYAH chairman and Party secretary in December 2025. By March 2026, VOYAH had listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange — a milestone in Dongfeng’s push to restructure its independent new-energy operations.
With Wu crossing over from another state-owned giant and Lu moving up into the group’s top echelon, Dongfeng’s senior leadership team is entering a new chapter. Their combined expertise — Wu’s in commercial vehicle R&D and operations, Lu’s in building a premium EV brand — gives Dongfeng critical managerial firepower as it pushes forward with its own-brand strategy and new-energy transition.
