Gasgoo Munich- According to data from Qichacha, Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. recently completed its business registration. Huang Yong serves as the legal representative, with a registered capital of approximately 8.2 billion yuan. Records indicate the company was established on August 17, 2026, at No. 99 Fengshu Fifth Road in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hubei Province. It is registered as a limited liability company involving foreign investment.

In terms of business scope, the new entity's operations span a wide array of fields, including automotive parts R&D, investment activities using proprietary funds, and the retail and wholesale of auto components. The company is also authorized to sell vehicles—including fully electric models—handle technology and trade imports and exports, and conduct online sales.

Regarding equity structure, Qichacha data reveals the company is jointly held by Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd., among others. Specifically, Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile Co., Ltd. subscribed to approximately 1.977 billion yuan in capital, representing a 24.13% stake. Dongfeng Motor Group contributed 1.109 billion yuan for a 13.53% share, matching Stellantis, which also invested 1.109 billion yuan for the same percentage. Changjiang Industrial Investment Group put in 800 million yuan for a 9.76% stake, while Wuhan Financial Holding Group and Wuhan EDZ Industrial Investment Group each subscribed 1.6 billion yuan, securing 19.52% apiece.

The six parties formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement on May 15 of this year, committing to a total investment exceeding 8 billion yuan. Following the establishment of the new entity, the legacy Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile will serve solely as an investor focused on manufacturing operations. The new structure is designed to build a fresh operational framework better suited to the rigors of market competition.

On the product front, the new venture will adopt a collaborative model: the Chinese partners will supply core new energy and intelligent technologies, while Stellantis contributes its branding, design capabilities, and global sales channels.

Under the roadmap, Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën will accelerate the electrification of its Peugeot and Citroën lineups. Simultaneously, it plans to introduce global Jeep models for production in Wuhan, with new energy vehicles rolling out starting in 2027. Furthermore, Wuhan will host a new R&D center and a dedicated sales company for the Jeep brand.

Industry analysts view the launch of this new entity as pivotal not only for Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën's strategic pivot but also for revitalizing Wuhan's existing vehicle manufacturing capacity. The move is expected to drive synergistic development across the upstream and downstream supply chain, covering complete vehicles, power batteries, and intelligent components.
