Gasgoo Munich- On September 22, Dongfeng Motor General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary Feng Changjun traveled to Shenzhen. He held talks with Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei and other senior executives.

The meeting reviewed the deep cooperation accumulated between Dongfeng and Huawei over the years. Both sides agreed to push forward all-around collaboration in vehicle intelligence, corporate digital and smart upgrades, and ecosystem co-creation. They are exploring a path for full-stack, native integration between a state-owned automaker and a tech firm — a move meant to drive China's smart-car industry toward systemic innovation.
Ren stressed that safety and quality must be the bedrock of carmaking. Huawei, he said, is ready to leverage its strengths to help Dongfeng build smart vehicles that stand up to market scrutiny. Feng agreed, calling safety and quality the foundation of consumer trust for intelligent cars. With their partnership already running deep, there is room to expand the ecosystem further. The companies could team up with power grids to explore sustainable vehicle-to-grid business models. They could also uncover real-world applications for onboard communications and the integration of cars with smart transportation and smart cities.
The executives also touched on corporate operations and business development. They exchanged views on strategic new models being jointly developed, including the EPICLAND X9, Mengshi X700, and Voyah Dream 9. They also discussed future cooperation on product definition, smart-technology deployment, and marketing. Dongfeng is currently advancing its "Oriental Wind Rising 2030" plan. It recently rolled out initiatives dubbed "Tianjing Zero Carbon," "Embodied Smart Vehicle All-Domain Protection," and "Sail on the Horizon." The two sides pledged to keep deepening their partnership to build future-ready smart vehicles and intelligent mobility solutions.
