Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 9) - FAW Volkswagen will recall 1,633 imported Audi Q5 SUVs next month, the People's Daily Online reported today. The recall, which has been approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, will target 3.2 FSI quattro Q5s manufactured between June and December of last year. The recall will begin on August 7.
The Q5s (pictured) in question are suspected to have their sunroofs installed incorrectly. In extremely cold temperatures, the sunroof window glass may crack, which may harm people in the SUV. 13,172 Q5s in the United States are being recalled for the very same reason.
FAW-VW will replace windows in recalled vehicles free of charge, in order to eliminate any threats to driver and passenger safety. The joint venture, via its certified dealerships, will contact owners of affected vehicles by phone, mail and other various methods.
