Shen Hui, the former CEO of Fiat China, may join Geely Group as vice president of the Chinese auto maker, sources reported.
Shen would be responsible for Geely's overseas projects, according to the report.
Analysts said that if Shen chooses to get on board, his experience in multinational auto companies will help Geely's bid for Volvo.
Geely declined to comment.
Reportedly, Ford Motor Corp said Geely was its first choice as buyer of Volvo. However, consortiums led by former senior executives of Volvo and the Swedish Automobile Labor Union have offered to bid for Volvo, intensifying the competition.
