In 2006, Foton Automobile recovered from bad performance: hit a net profit of 47.6225 million Yuan, an increase of 116.05% year-on-year; the main operating income grew to 19.311 billion Yuan, an increase of 31.14%; the total profits amounted to 72.0939 million Yuan, an increase of 125.85% year-on-year.
The report showed that by the end of the reporting period, total sales were 343,679 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%, and ranking fifth in single enterprises nationwide, of which sales of 291,774 light trucks, increased to 6.26% over the same period last year, the market share were 30%. Mid and heavy truck achieved sales of 35,552 units, grew 70.35% over the same period last year, of which heavy truck sales had a market share of 9.56%. Light passenger car sales achieved sales of 13,972 units; a year-on-year increased 5.46% and had a market share of 7.2%. Large and medium-sized passenger cars achieved sales of 1,229 units, a year-on-year increase of 36.56% and a market share of 1.28%.
