Gasgoo Munich- Four key government bodies — the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and the State Administration for Market Regulation — jointly issued a notice on August 27. Starting immediately, they are launching a year-long nationwide campaign to tighten production consistency and boost quality in road motor vehicles.
The initiative aims to bring order to the competitive landscape in the new energy vehicle sector. By enforcing strict baselines for production consistency and quality safety, regulators hope to safeguard public security and protect citizens' lives and property.

The campaign targets four key pain points: production consistency, reliability, durability, and the verification of new technologies. Inspections will cover vehicle manufacturers and their products, as well as relevant testing agencies.
Oversight will focus on four main areas: safety assurance for intelligent connected vehicles, corporate R&D and manufacturing capabilities, and production consistency. Specifically regarding new technology verification, the notice mandates rigorous checks on combined driving assistance and autonomous driving functions. It also calls for scrutiny of data and cybersecurity for both products and cloud platforms, alongside artificial intelligence safety protocols.
The campaign will roll out through a mix of corporate self-inspections, stricter reviews, enhanced supervision, industry self-regulation, improved policy standards, and public guidance. Manufacturers are required to submit self-correction reports to local industry authorities by the end of December 2026. Furthermore, any products found to be defective must be reported to the State Administration for Market Regulation, with voluntary recalls initiated promptly.
