Goodyear said Friday the 2010 Toyota Prius now includes its fuel-efficient tire, Assurance Fuel Max, as standard equipment.
The Assurance Fuel Max features a fuel-saving tread compound that helps reduce energy loss during use, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. said.
The tire also is available for the 2010 Ford Fusion S and 2011 Chevrolet Volt.
As a strategy to boost sales, Goodyear, based in Akron, Ohio, has said it will step up new product offerings, including its Assurance Fuel Max tire that was introduced in February.
