Japan's Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd is considering purchasing some General Motors Corp and Chrylser dealerships in the United States., to expand sales of its Subaru cars, the Mainichi daily reported on Friday.
The maker of four-wheel-drive sports cars hopes to gain a stronger foothold in California and Texas, among other U.S. locations, the paper said without citing sources.
Fuji Heavy, whose top shareholder is Toyota Motor Corp, has forecast a six-fold rise in its operating loss to 35 billion yen ($371 million) this financial year.
