Gasgoo Munich- On February 12, GAC Energy, the energy services arm of GAC Group, announced that its self-operated charging network has surpassed 2,000 stations, marking a new milestone in the company's push to build a nationwide EV infrastructure platform.

The company said its charging footprint now spans 31 provincial-level regions and 211 cities across China, with a total of 24,313 charging piles, including 18,355 DC fast chargers. Cumulative charging volume has reached 1.56 billion kWh. More than half of its sites are large-format stations equipped with at least 10 chargers, while in key urban markets over 95% of facilities support 1,000V high-voltage ultra-fast charging.

In addition, GAC Energy has already built four provinces with more than 1,000 chargers each and 33 cities with over 100 chargers, aiming to ensure that in major cities a station can be found within one kilometer.

Beyond expanding its proprietary network, GAC Energy has accelerated interoperability partnerships since 2025 to enhance cross-network access. In May 2025, it entered a two-way connectivity agreement with Zeekr Power, enabling users of both platforms to search and access charging station information via their respective apps and mini programs.

Under the arrangement, Zeekr Power's charging network has been integrated into GAC's in-vehicle systems. Drivers of GAC AION, HYPTEC, Trumpchi and Toyota-branded models under the group can locate participating stations through their dedicated apps and onboard interfaces, with GAC Energy membership benefits extended to Zeekr Power sites. Conversely, Zeekr users can access real-time data on GAC Energy chargers—including location, pricing and availability—through the Zeekr app's in-car charging map or the Zeekr Power mini program.

In early August 2025, GAC Energy launched a charging network-sharing initiative with ARCFOX, giving users access to nearly 20,000 public charging piles and extending benefits such as barrier-free entry and reduced idle fees.

Days later, on August 14, the company struck a similar agreement with Chery New Energy, opening more than 20,000 GAC charging locations to Chery's in-vehicle systems.

In December 2025, GAC Energy unveiled a three-year development roadmap, setting a target of 270,000 charging pile sales in 2026—comprising 250,000 AC units and 20,000 DC units—and outlining ambitions to reach annual sales of one million units by 2028. On the technology front, the company plans to introduce robotic arm-based automatic charging systems and roll out megawatt-level ultra-fast charging, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) solutions and commercial and industrial energy storage products beginning in 2026.
