Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 5, 2026, a Huawei delegation led by Yu Chengdong, Huawei executive director and Chairman of the Investment Review Board, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Consumer BG, visited GAC Group's Panyu headquarters. Under the agreement, the two sides will jointly build the HarmonyOS ecosystem and pursue collaborative innovation in frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence. By combining their respective strengths in new energy vehicle manufacturing, operating systems, intelligent cockpits and global service capabilities, GAC and Huawei aim to develop smart mobility solutions with global competitiveness, advancing both the intelligent transformation and international expansion of China's auto industry.

In practical terms, ecosystem collaboration will see the two companies work together to embed HarmonyOS more deeply into enterprise operations and customer-facing services, supporting GAC's business growth and productivity gains. On the technology front, GAC plans to build on its existing partnerships with Huawei Device in areas such as HMS for Car and HarmonySpace, while extending cooperation within the broader HarmonyOS ecosystem. Particular emphasis will be placed on joint development in AI and other cutting-edge fields.

To translate collaboration into tangible results, GAC will align its industrial strengths and market needs with Huawei Device's capabilities, pursuing multi-dimensional technology deployment and product innovation. Looking ahead, GAC will tailor joint applications and services with Huawei Device to the positioning and user profiles of its various brands, enriching all-scenario intelligent mobility experiences under the HarmonyOS ecosystem and accelerating expansion in overseas smart mobility markets. At the same time, the two sides will deepen the integration of Huawei's Xiaoyi intelligent agent into vehicle cabins, co-developing a new generation of intelligent cockpits with stronger perception and interaction to further sharpen product differentiation.

GAC's broader strategy provides the backdrop for the expanded partnership. In 2024, the automaker unveiled its "Smart Mobility 2027" action plan, committing to a three-year effort to strengthen three core technology pillars: its AI large-model platform, the Xingling electronic and electrical architecture, and its connected big data platform. The goal is to accelerate upgrades in driver assistance and intelligent cockpit systems, deliver a step change in user experience, and drive corporate transformation through technological innovation and deeper reform.

As the wave of AI-driven intelligence gathers momentum, open collaboration has become an inevitable choice. Since first formalizing their partnership in 2017, GAC and Huawei have steadily broadened their strategic cooperation, spanning hardware and software, products and cloud services, R&D and intelligent manufacturing, as well as joint efforts to develop premium intelligent new energy vehicle brands. Intelligent technologies have remained at the heart of this collaboration. Jointly developed GAC–Huawei cloud-based in-vehicle systems have already debuted on the GAC AION UT model, delivering what the partners describe as four breakthrough intelligent experiences. The two companies have also co-built an industry-leading AI middleware platform that underpins GAC's "Xingling AI panoramic" framework, and their "AI-empowered intelligent manufacturing for the automotive industry" solution has been recognized as a global benchmark case by the International Telecommunication Union.
