2. DiDi's 99 Partners with Movida on Vehicle Rentals in Brazil
The program is expected to benefit at least 50,000 ride-hailing drivers over three years
·On August 4 local time, DiDi's Brazilian platform 99 signed an agreement with Brazilian car rental company Movida to offer discounted vehicle rentals—including new energy vehicles—to drivers on the 99 platform.
·The program is expected to benefit at least 50,000 drivers over the next three years and reduce their vehicle rental costs by approximately 25%.
·Drivers will be able to rent vehicles suited to ride-hailing operations from Movida at preferential rates.
·Drawing on its experience in NEV operations and driver services, 99 will help expand Movida's rental services among platform drivers and encourage greater NEV adoption.
·The partnership is intended to lower the barriers to using NEVs for ride-hailing services and support the green transition of Brazil's mobility sector.
3. Versigent Opens New R&D Center and Factory in Wuhan
The nearly 70,000-square-meter site targets annual capacity of approximately 650,000 sets
·On August 6, 2026, Versigent officially opened its Jiangcheng R&D center and new factory in Wuhan, approximately 16 months after site selection and construction began.
·Designed as a core base serving Chinese automakers, the project covers nearly 70,000 square meters.
·The R&D center initially houses more than 180 employees, with the team expected to expand to 600 over the next four years.
·Its research will focus on electrical and electronic architecture, high-speed data transmission and advanced connectivity technologies, while also exploring applications in robotics, the low-altitude economy, energy storage and data centers.
·The factory targets annual production capacity of approximately 650,000 sets.
·An intelligent scheduling model reduces the time needed to prepare weekly wire-cutting production plans from 30 hours to less than one hour, improves efficiency for high-mix, low-volume orders by more than 90% and eliminates manual errors.
