BYD Great Tang EV Surpasses 100,000 Pre-Orders
BYD recently announced that the Great Tang EV has exceeded 100,000 pre-sale orders, less than two weeks after pre-sales opened at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, with a pre-sale price range of RMB 250,000 to RMB 320,000.
Positioned as a full-size flagship SUV, the Great Tang measures 5,263 mm in length with a 3,130 mm wheelbase, giving it a strong road presence. The model is available in three range configurations: an 800 km rear-wheel-drive version, a 950 km rear-wheel-drive version, and an 850 km all-wheel-drive version.
The vehicle is equipped with BYD's second-generation Blade Battery, delivering a maximum CLTC-rated pure electric range of 950 km — setting a new benchmark for full-size electric SUVs globally. Powered by BYD's ultra-fast charging technology, the battery can charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes, and to 97% in nine minutes. Even in extreme cold conditions of -30°C, charging time increases by only an additional three minutes.

BYD, CAR Inc. strike strategic deal for 100,000 NEVs, nationwide FLASH Charging rollout
BYD and Chinese car rental operator CAR Inc. signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shenzhen on May 9 centered on BYD's "FLASH Charging China" initiative, alongside a framework procurement deal covering 100,000 vehicles.
The 100,000-unit procurement framework agreement further strengthens BYD's position as a core supplier for CAR Inc.'s electrified fleet while supporting the rental company's ongoing expansion of green mobility capacity.
Under the new agreement, the two companies will expand their collaboration beyond vehicle procurement to include charging infrastructure deployment. BYD plans to install its FLASH Charging facilities at eligible CAR Inc. rental locations nationwide, creating a broader high-speed charging network intended to improve convenience for EV rental users.
