CATL partners with Fuzhou Public Transport Group to support bus electrification
On March 11, China's battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Fuzhou Public Transport Group in Ningde, Fujian. The partnership will focus on battery after-market services for buses, urban battery-swap networks, battery recycling, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies, exploring the“second phase”of public transport electrification.
As the largest public transport operator in Fujian Province, Fuzhou Public Transport Group has already achieved full electrification of its fleet. The cooperation aims to address challenges such as energy replenishment efficiency and battery lifecycle management in large-scale electric bus operations, while building a safer, more efficient, low-carbon, and intelligent urban public transportation energy system and promoting battery asset circulation.
ZF's EMB production line to be established in Wuhan
On March 11, the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone announced that ZF Friedrichshafen AG plans to establish an electro-mechanical brake (EMB) production line in the district. The agreement was reached during a meeting between the two sides, aiming to accelerate the implementation of the project.
ZF has been operating in the area since 2011 and has continuously expanded its investment. In October 2025, ZF officially launched a new automotive systems plant in Wuhan, expanding local production capacity and increasing output of electronic parking brake (EPB) calipers. The new facility is expected to introduce next-generation EMB production lines, an important component of brake-by-wire systems that combines electric actuation with mechanical braking to deliver more precise and responsive braking performance.
RoboSense wins exclusive LiDAR contract for Baidu's next-generation Robotaxi
On March 12, RoboSense announced it has secured an exclusive design win for the next-generation mass-production Robotaxi model used by Baidu's autonomous ride-hailing platform Apollo Go.
Under the partnership, RoboSense will supply its high-resolution digital main LiDAR EM4 together with the fully solid-state blind-spot lidar E1. The “primary LiDAR + supplementary LiDAR” sensing architecture will enable 360-degree perception without blind spots, improving both safety and operational efficiency for autonomous mobility services.
RoboSense has already built strong momentum in the automotive OEM LiDAR market. By November 25, 2025, its EM platform had secured design wins from 13 automakers across 56 vehicle models, including SAIC Motor-affiliated brands and other global OEMs, with cumulative five-year orders approaching one million units.
