CATL, Solarpro sign 2-GWh sodium-ion energy storage agreement
CATL and Solarpro, a leading renewable energy company in Eastern Europe, recently signed a 2-GWh agreement for CATL's TENER Sodium Energy Storage System. The two companies plan to deploy the first large-scale sodium-ion energy storage project in Central and Eastern Europe in 2026, marking a key step toward the large-scale commercialization of sodium-ion battery technology in Europe.
The TENER Sodium Energy Storage System is designed for 15,000 charge-discharge cycles and an operating life of 25 to 30 years. It retains 92% of its capacity at -20°C, making it well suited for harsh winter conditions in Eastern Europe. The agreement builds on the companies' previous cooperation, including a 150-MWh EnerC+ liquid-cooled energy storage project in Bulgaria in 2024 and a 602-MWh TENER lithium battery energy storage project connected to Bulgaria's power grid in May this year. The latest partnership extends their collaboration from lithium-ion to sodium-ion energy storage technologies.
China launches first humanoid robot dataset quality evaluation standard
China has officially approved the national standard project Humanoid Robot Dataset – Part 6: Quality Evaluation. The standard is administered by the National Technical Committee on Robotics Standardization (TC591), executed by its Humanoid Robot Subcommittee (TC591SC5), and jointly led by Beijing Research Institute of Automation for Machinery Industry Co., Ltd. and UBTECH.
The standard aims to establish a unified framework covering evaluation objects, principles, indicators, procedures, methods, and result reporting for humanoid robot datasets. It focuses on five key dimensions: data reliability, multimodal alignment, task coverage, annotation verifiability, and evaluation comparability. By providing standardized criteria for dataset quality assessment throughout data collection, processing, annotation, storage, publication, and application, the initiative is expected to improve data quality, reduce development costs, and support the commercialization of humanoid robots.
Geely Galaxy TT Ultra opens presales at 209,800 yuan
Geely Galaxy opened presales for the TT Ultra on July 21, with the high-performance electric sedan priced at 209,800 yuan. The initial launch will be limited to 999 units. Positioned as the flagship version of the Galaxy TT, the model combines a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with exclusive exterior styling, Geely's new G-ASD H7 assisted driving system, an NVIDIA DRIVE Thor-U processor, and a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor.
The TT Ultra is the first model equipped with Geely's 16-in-1 Intelligent E-Drive system, which integrates more than 180 components into a lighter and more compact assembly. Powered by a 180-kW front motor and a 245-kW rear motor, the vehicle delivers a combined output of 425 kW, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, and has a top speed of 210 km/h. It is equipped with a 75.2-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, offering a CLTC driving range of 650 km. Built on an 800-volt silicon-carbide platform, the model supports 6C fast charging, enabling charging from 10% to 80% in 11.6 minutes under suitable conditions.
