Pony.ai's Robotaxi Revenue Surges 691% in Q2
Pony.ai's Robotaxi business continued to accelerate in the second quarter of 2026, with revenue surging 691.2% year on year to RMB81.92 million ($12.1 million), according to the company's latest financial results released on August 18.
The company's total revenue rose 68.8% year on year to RMB246 million ($36.2 million), with Robotaxi services contributing about one-third of total revenue for the first time. Robotaxi revenue also increased 40.9% from the previous quarter.
Within the Robotaxi business, fare-charging revenue jumped 849.3% year on year, reaching a record quarterly growth rate. The sharp increase points to growing consumer adoption and the accelerating commercialization of autonomous ride-hailing services.
As of June 30, Pony.ai had 1,975 Robotaxis in its fleet. Its seventh-generation Robotaxis, based on models from BAIC, GAC and Toyota, have all entered regular commercial service.
Pony.ai is also accelerating its overseas expansion through partnerships and co-fleet models, with a pipeline of more than 4,000 Robotaxis planned for international markets.
Key takeaway: Pony.ai's surging Robotaxi revenue suggests that autonomous ride-hailing is moving beyond pilot programs toward a more commercially viable business model, while the company is simultaneously scaling up its global expansion.

Xiaomi's SU7 all-electric sedan lineup has surpassed 500,000 cumulative deliveries, setting a new record for a single model from a Chinese EV startup. The milestone came just 28.5 months after the first-generation SU7 was launched on March 28, 2024.
