Geely Galaxy rolls out its 2 millionth vehicle
On March 5, Geely Galaxy brand marked the rollout of its 2 millionth production vehicle, the Geely Galaxy M7, the first mainstream hybrid SUV in the Galaxy M series. Since the brand was officially launched in February 2023, Geely Galaxy reached the milestone of 2 million units in just 37 months, making it the fastest new energy vehicle brand to achieve this production volume, according to the company.
Geely attributes the rapid growth to the broader technological and industrial capabilities of the Geely Group. Over the past 11 years, the group has invested more than RMB 250 billion in research and development, establishing five global design centers, five engineering R&D centers, five testing regions, five major energy technology platforms, and five AI-powered intelligent ecosystems. These resources support the full chain of vehicle design, development, testing, and intelligent technology deployment.
XPENG to launch G6 EREV SUV on March 6
On March 5, XPENG announced that the G6 EREV (extended-range electric vehicle) SUV will officially launch on March 6.
According to the company, the vehicle will feature XPENG's second-generation VLA model with effective computing power of 2,250 TOPS. The model also emphasizes cabin space, offering an 85.6% space utilization rate and more than one meter of headroom.
In terms of powertrain, the G6 EREV is equipped with an 800V + 5C high-voltage platform, delivering a CLTC combined driving range of 1,704 km and a pure electric range of up to 430 km. Its fast-charging system enables the vehicle to gain 314 km of range in 12 minutes (SOC 10%–80%).
Safety features include tire blowout stability control at speeds of up to 180 km/h and an automatic emergency braking (AEB) system capable of stopping the vehicle at speeds up to 130 km/h. The vehicle also supports automatic emergency steering (AES) on low-traction surfaces such as snow and ice. In addition, it comes with the Taichi AI chassis and standard dynamic suspension damping control (DCC), which adjusts suspension stiffness according to road conditions to balance comfort and handling.
China releases more than 300 humanoid robots in 2025
China launched more than 300 humanoid robot models in 2025, accounting for over half of the global total, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Li Lecheng said on March 5 during the“Ministers' Corridor”at the Fourth Session of the 14th National People’s Congress.
Li noted that artificial intelligence is rapidly shifting from a “key variable” to a powerful driver of high-quality economic growth. According to official data, China’s core AI industry reached a scale of RMB 1.2 trillion in 2025, with more than 6,200 related companies.
He highlighted three major developments. First, Chinese large-scale AI models are gaining global influence, with open-source models released by Chinese companies ranking first worldwide in downloads in 2025, significantly lowering the cost and barriers to AI adoption. Second, AI is being deeply integrated into manufacturing, with more than 30% of large industrial enterprises in China adopting AI technologies by the end of 2025. Third, intelligent devices are rapidly gaining popularity, with AI-powered glasses, smartphones, and computers becoming popular consumer products, while new humanoid robot models continue to emerge at a pace exceeding half of the global total.
