XPENG GX debuts new AWD range-extended powertrain
XPENG recently unveiled its next-generation all-wheel-drive extended-range system on the flagship GX SUV, highlighting major upgrades in range, performance, off-road capability, and cabin refinement.
The system features a 63.3 kWh 5C lithium iron phosphate battery pack paired with a 60-liter fuel tank, delivering extended driving range and reducing range anxiety for both daily commuting and long-distance travel.
In terms of performance, the dual-motor AWD setup provides up to 465 N·m of torque per motor and maintains strong output even at low battery levels, addressing a common weakness of traditional range-extended vehicles. The system also incorporates SUV-grade off-road capability and dual-redundancy drive architecture to enhance safety and reliability across urban, highway, and challenging terrain conditions.
