Luxeed V9 deliveries top 20,000
Luxeed announced on August 25 that cumulative deliveries of the V9 had surpassed 20,000 units, setting a new speed record among new-energy MPVs in China's 500,000-yuan segment.
Priced from 389,800 yuan to 519,800 yuan, the Luxeed V9 targets the premium new-energy MPV market. Deliveries have continued to ramp up since its launch, with the latest milestone further strengthening its position in the segment.
Luxeed is jointly developed by Huawei and Chery. The V9 is HIMA's first flagship MPV and features Huawei's Qiankun ADS driver-assistance system and HarmonySpace smart cockpit. It is aimed at premium family buyers and business travelers.
BYD's 10,000th FLASH charging station to open in Shenzhen
BYD will hold a completion ceremony for its 10,000th FLASH charging station at 9 a.m. on August 28, 2026, at its flagship site in Shenzhen's Longhua district. The station took less than six months to build.
BYD launched its "FLASH Charging China" strategy on March 5 alongside its second-generation Blade Battery and FLASH charging technology. Its network has expanded rapidly since then, growing from 5,000 stations on April 1 to 7,018 across 325 Chinese cities by June 30. It took BYD less than five months to double the total to 10,000.
The company's latest FLASH charger delivers up to 1,500 kW through a single connector, making it the world's most powerful mass-produced charger. Vehicles fitted with the second-generation Blade Battery can charge from 10% to 70% in five minutes and reach 97% in nine. Even at minus 30°C, charging from 20% to 97% takes about 12 minutes—just three minutes longer than at room temperature.
Under the strategy, BYD plans to have 20,000 FLASH charging stations operating across China by the end of 2026, including 18,000 urban co-located sites and 2,000 highway locations. Its network now stretches from Shuangyashan in Heilongjiang to Kashgar in Xinjiang, and from Sanya in Hainan to Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia.
The opening of the 10,000th station means BYD is now halfway to its year-end target.
Four Chinese agencies launch year-long push to improve vehicle quality and production compliance
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and State Administration for Market Regulation jointly issued a notice on August 27, launching a year-long nationwide campaign to improve the quality and conformity of road-going vehicles.
The campaign aims to rein in disorderly competition in the new-energy vehicle industry, strengthen quality and production standards, and protect public safety as well as people's lives and property.
Authorities will target problems in four main areas: conformity of production, reliability, durability, and the testing and validation of new technologies. Vehicle manufacturers, their products, and relevant testing and inspection bodies will all be subject to checks.
Key areas of scrutiny include safety safeguards for intelligent connected vehicles, automakers' design, development and manufacturing capabilities, and whether mass-produced vehicles match their approved specifications.
