Xiaomi Auto Cumulative Deliveries Surpass 800,000 Units

On September 7, 2026, Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun announced that Xiaomi Auto's cumulative deliveries had officially exceeded 800,000 units.

The milestone came about 29 months after the first deliveries began on April 3, 2024.

The Xiaomi YU7, an all-electric mid-to-large SUV, has become the main delivery driver, with cumulative deliveries exceeding 150,000 units in just six months.

The Xiaomi SU7 series surpassed 500,000 cumulative deliveries as of August 17, reaching that milestone in 28.5 months, which the source identifies as a record for a single model from a Chinese new-energy vehicle startup.

Xiaomi Auto had previously set a 2026 annual delivery target of 550,000 units.

With additional capacity from its Phase II factory and continued orders for the new-generation SU7 and YU7, Xiaomi Auto is preparing for a major delivery push in the second half of the year.

Li Auto launches all-new Li L9 in the UAE, Expanding Its Gulf Presence

On September 3, 2026, Li Auto officially launched the all-new Li L9 in Dubai, marking its entry into the UAE market.

The SUV is offered in Ultra and Livis versions and uses a third-generation range-extended electric powertrain, with a combined range of 1,650 km.

Standard features include steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering; the Livis version additionally offers an 800V active suspension.

Li Auto adapted the vehicle for UAE road conditions, extreme summer heat and local charging standards.

The vehicle features an Arabic-localized user interface. Voice interaction currently supports English, with Arabic voice support planned by the end of 2026.

In April 2026, Li Auto partnered with Al Fahim Group, which became its exclusive UAE distributor.

More than two official retail and service centers are planned in the UAE, with the first center scheduled to open in central Dubai in September.

Li Auto also plans to make its first appearance at a major European auto show at the 2026 Paris Motor Show.

CATL Signs Strategic Partnerships to Reshape Copper Foil Supply

CATL has signed strategic cooperation agreements with Xi'an Taijin New Energy & Materials Sci-Tech(TJNE), Shenzhen Huike New Materials, and other companies.

The partnerships cover copper foil equipment procurement, capacity development, cost-based pricing, joint R&D and shared green power.

CATL and Shenzhen Huike New Materials, together with another partner, plan to jointly build 400,000 tonnes of new capacity over the next three years.

CATL will also provide financial support through prepayments and optimized payment terms.

The cooperation involves multiple stages of the copper foil supply chain, from equipment procurement to production capacity and cost management, pointing to a deeper, long-term supply-chain restructuring around CATL's battery manufacturing ecosystem.
