Xiaomi EV unveils SkyNomad series
On July 8, Xiaomi EV officially introduced its new SkyNomad series, describing it as "a new name about space and lifestyle." While the company has not announced an official Chinese name, Xiaomi EV Technology has registered the Chinese social media accounts "Xiaomi Pengcheng", corresponding to the SkyNomad branding. Earlier industry reports suggested the series would represent Xiaomi's extended-range SUV lineup, with the first model reportedly codenamed Kunlun N3 and expected to debut in the second half of 2026 under a standalone brand identity rather than the Xiaomi logo.
Trademark records show Xiaomi applied for the "Xuntian" trademark in April 2023 and the "SKYNOMAD" trademark in November 2024, both covering automotive-related categories. Industry reports also indicate that the lineup could expand to include Kunlun 10, Kunlun 20, Kunlun 30, as well as a premium pop-up camper vehicle codenamed "Man Island." Xiaomi has not officially disclosed vehicle specifications, pricing, or launch timing.

MIIT expects China's humanoid robot production to exceed 100,000 units in 2026
Speaking at the press conference for the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said China's annual humanoid robot production is expected to exceed 100,000 units in 2026, driven by rapid advances in foundation models, AI agents, AI chips, and accelerating industrial deployment.
China's leading humanoid robot manufacturers continue to scale production rapidly. Unitree Robotics has produced around 11,000 units of one biped humanoid robot model, while AGIBOT completed production of its 15,000th embodied intelligent robot less than three months after reaching the 10,000-unit milestone. Companies including ENGINEAI Robotics and Leju Robotics are also expanding manufacturing capacity, with automated production lines now capable of producing one humanoid robot every 30 minutes and 15 minutes, respectively.
According to MIIT, these developments indicate that China's humanoid robot industry is transitioning from small-scale pilot production toward standardized manufacturing and large-scale commercialization, supported by stronger supply-chain collaboration and accelerated localization of core components.
